A trip to Neverland was in order for this couples cosplay.

A few years back at Supanova my husband I cosplayed Captain Hook and Mr Smee.

I added a historical look to my Captain Hook with a combination of fabrics from Spotlight , op shop finds, repurposed items and various lace and trims.

The skirt is made using an old table cloth and old lace curtains. Layers of tulle are sewn into the skirts lining to give it shape. Following this method, the jabot is also created using our original bedroom window lace curtain.

The jacket is made from red velvet and lined with a dark red satin, this is finished with gold blanket edging, chinese braid, lace curtains and gold buttons. This was the first velvet jacket that I have created.

I also sewed the vest and hat for my husband, he created the pom pom.

My favourite part of this cosplay is my hat! This was the first hat I made from scratch, I used buckram as the base, and covered it with the same materials and finishes of the jacket. It was a fun challenge and I plan to make more headwear in the future.
